Survival Camp

Survival Camp

Survival Camp will be an exciting adventure for you and your mates to take part in.  We will be travelling to the beautiful Tawanui area in the Catlins near Owaka.

The campground is perfectly suited, being flanked by native bush and also having the Catlins river run right through our campsite which is well stocked with brown trout, eels, and Koura/lobsters. Being quite isolated, there's not a long-drop in sight either!...,...but there are 4 flush toilets!  - luxury camping!

During Survival Camp We Will.......

  • Construct a shelter to sleep in
  • Light a fire using traditional methods &  cook over a fire,
  • Build and set a snare trap
  • Fish for trout
  • Archey
  • Learn to use a compass and map
  • Set eel nets and also search for the elusive NZ Native Bat which inhabits the area.
