Welcome to Menzies College – a co-educational state secondary school situated in Wyndham, Southland, and the friendly heart of New Zealand. Only thirty minutes’ drive from Invercargill, Wyndham is a typically small rural town.

We believe Menzies College can provide students with a multitude of positive experiences that will enable social and intellectual growth. Our safe school environment and small roll embraces students with diversified learning strengths and needs and has an appreciation for those with interest in academic, cultural and sporting activities.

Menzies College is committed to the development of lifelong learning skills that motivate and enable all students to become confident as 21st century learners, prepared for life after school with a strong sense of a work ethic and citizenship. We want all students to achieve their academic potential supported by a caring staff who believe in excellence for all and whom are prepared to work beyond expectation. Teaching and learning is supported by well-resourced modern learning environments with all students having access to current technologies across the school.

Being a small rural school we offer a major advantage to our young people. We sincerely believe we are, “Big enough to match the best, small enough to care”. Our students enjoy learning in smaller classes, knowing each other and the friendly atmosphere of the whanau group system that blends students from all year levels together in small student centered environments. It is in these settings that our motto of “Integrity” is best developed, as students are encouraged to be their best and given the confidence and guidance from senior students and staff to explore and embrace new learning.

We are proud of the strong links that have been built up through our history of positive interaction with parents/caregivers and the wider community we serve in Eastern Southland. We are a community based school and encourage the participation of everyone in all varieties of school life.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school to discuss your learning needs and feel free to visit at any time.
